Accent your wedding-day hairstyle with a jeweled headband, crystal comb or a traditional veil. For her Fall 2010 Bridal Market runway show, Carolina Herrera featured ideas on how to wear flowers in your hair. One idea we love is to change your hairstyle after the ceremony for a more relaxed style for your wedding reception, especially if you plan on changing into a little white dress.

“That’s when I received an e-mail from the publicist for Aveda, Mona Wood, a good friend of mine. She told me that an elite stylist, Jon Reyman, was coming from New York to work some major fashion shows but made time to do cuts and donate the money to charity. His normal rate starts at $250, but he was going to charge $100 and donate it all to a local charity.”

“Maintaining the Egytian theme, hair was pulled back cleanly into a boxy chignon for a bold, geometric look with overall shine. The look is accented with a gold, chain-style fringe emulating Cleopatra's fringe.”

“Some of the models would be wearing gold metallic "bangs" and one, a huge headdress. So Reyman needed to keep the look smooth and clean as well as eye catching. He parted hair in center and pulled it back in a tight, sleek ponytail”.

“For hair, Jon Reyman for Aveda and Elie Tahari chose to do "something modern and pretty, not overdone to compliment the clothes," therefore Reyman created a refined ponytail to keep hair away from the face, but still look finished”.

“At the Academy of Art University show, Jon Reyman for Aveda created a sleek and “refined chic” twist on a traditional bun. Since the show was a collection of pieces from a sleuth of young designers, Reyman wanted to create a look that was smooth and not so concrete since some of the girls would also be wearing hats”.

“Before the show, we had the opportunity to venture backstage and speak with Pablo Rodriguez, the key makeup artist for MAC Pro and the mastermind behind all six makeup looks, and Jon Reyman, the lead hair stylist for Aveda, who designed all the rather intricate hair looks”.

The nails were polished with a nude shade, which promises to be hugely popular, alongside khaki and muted green tones, for Spring 2011”.

“For hair, Jon Reyman for Aveda created larger-than-life styles, achieved with plenty of back-combing set with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray, hairpieces and extensions. Reyman described the shape as almost square but with rounded edges”.

“I took both sections to my genius hairstylist, Aveda's Jon Reyman, who managed to give the extensions a hair cut! First Jon cut them in half, then trimmed the length straight across, lopping off about 6 whole inches! He then added the newly-shorn section to my ponytail (adding a bunch of pins to keep it secure), and wrapped my own shorter ponytail around the elastic, which made the faux hair blend in better with my own locks”.
